I would give it black stars if I could. This was the worse place ever, but I think that's because we worked with the Chinese lady there. Anyway, my sister had passed away and our church suggested this funeral home. The director was nice. The Chinese lady was awful. (we are Chinese, btw). She had a miscommunication with the man who was responsible for keeping the body in a stable state (don't know the job title). Anyway, she told my mom my sister's arm was apparently broken and this left my parents in extreme devastation, shock and distraught. Eventually, I spoke to the guy responsible for keeping the body in a stable state and he told me he was suggesting we buy my sister an outfit that could cover up to her collar bone because of the incision made when we chose to donate her heart. SOOO, I told the lady that she relayed the incorrect information, and she said "oh well, these things happen. Misccommunication happens". And that's what set me off. She had no decency to apologize for her language mistake. Honestly, I get it. Language isn't everyone's strong suit, but to make a mistake like that, although not intentional, and NOT apologize for it is cruel, especially when my parents lost such a young daughter. After I heard that, I flipped out. I got so angry and made a scene. and I'm glad I did, because my parents were so burnt out of the stress and loss. I told her to apologize because she made a mistake and from a business standpoint/customer service, it's manners to apologize. ( I wouldn't have been pissed off had she just been like "oh! I'm so sorry, i didn't mean to make that mistake. My English isn't very good".) Anyway, she kept saying "these things happen and that GUY didn't communicate it well enough" with her. She refused to apologize so I flipped it out to the Director and we all sat down in his office and I told him the situation. Even the GUY who keeps the dead bodies stable was there. Said it all in their face that she was trying to blame him for everything when it was she who couldn't understand English and didn't make an effort to understand the situation. I even explained that as a business, their internal mistake is still a mistake regardless when it affects customers/clients. I don't pay a funeral home to give us more stress when we're grieving. It was so pathetic. I told the funeral director all I wanted was a proper face-to-face apology to my parents. So she said "sorry", looking at the floor. And that, brought me to a whole new level of anger. I called her out for being disrespectful when she was the one who made a mistake, and that because of her we have added stress. I even told her she was immature and as an adult, she needs to own her mistakes instead of blaming other people. I demanded that she look my mom in the eye and apologize. Eventually she did, but with a lot of resentment. Whatever at that point. The Funeral Director offered an apology letter which he never sent, but I didn't follow up anyway because I seriously never want to have anything to do with this crappy business.
On the day of the funeral, my sister's fiance rode in the car with the Chinese lady and a Chinese driver. He told me a year later, that they were chatting and joking and laughing out loud while on their way to the burial. This was super uncool and disrespectful.

I don't think the funeral director ever fired that lady, because she brings a lot of Chinese business to his place. I don't know if she still works there, but this was back in 2009. I will update her name when I find it so ya'll can be spared the grief and additional stress of someone who just wants to make money and has no soul.
