My experience here started of by Raymond calling my brother 'the deceased'....not by his name.
My brother was not embalmed hence Kamal called letting us know we now had a few days to bury my loving brother or it would be a closed casket. Hence my mom missed the funeral because the funeral was rushed and pushed ahead by Lotus Funeral Home and she was affected by COVID 19 travel restrictions but was still able to secure a date.
Initially Kamal pressed for a cremation where he was advised that is not a part of our belief even if that is what they specialize in.
My mother missed her sun being buried because my brother was not preserved by LOTUS funeral home eve though they had charged me for it, had lied and said it was done but didn't take due to hardened veins.
After being called through out the day by LOTUS Funeral Home I and my son dropped my brother's clothing off. We were then asked specifically, 'are his accessories in the bag?' Like what accessories? He said like his watch, rings, etc... I said I did drop off accessories but no watch and ring. *Note: it was a hand to hand exchange with 2 employees and the other opened the bag and said I see his shoes in the bag too. No sign in sheet, no log, no record and to add to the insult we were not able to enter and handed the belongings outside the door at 4:55pm. I asked quickly can i help to dress my bro by putting his accessories on? I was met with a firm No.
My brother did not have his tie, no cuff links, no shoes to be seen. After 8:30am I asked Kamal for the items, he responded, he did not dress him.
Kamal over-stepped his boundaries at the cemetery by threatening to have it shut down by the cemetery even when the hired workers confirmed all is well once social distancing is observed.
I didn't get my brother's suit bag, cuff links, didn't see his shoes in the casket as it was only half even when I requested a full view. His tie was never found. Matter-of-fact Lotus advised me, that I never dropped all these items off! Even though I have text communication, receipt for credit card and debit card transactions; even though Lotus called me while I was paying for the items.
--My brother not embalmed nor preserved past two weeks so, his mother can attend as she was affected by COVID 19 travel restrictions.
---Stole from my brother and lied that they ever received the accessories.
---DIDNT PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR AN OBITUARY -- A FUNERAL HOME?
---No compassion towards our loved one.
--- added more stress from the funeral home to the cemetery grounds
----lack of professionalism and embalming protocols displayed
--- suits ordered online had to be returned due to the funeral being rushed as a result of the lack of preservation. Hence more stress added to purchase items to fit Kamal and Lotus timeline created by negligence.

Kamal provided a cheque for $1,500 for lost items
Them taking away the opportunity of a mother not being able to bury her son gracefully. They believe the stress, the stolen items, which they had stated firmly were never received; now two of those items were placed inside the casket but out of view and hidden.
Anything you received should be recorded. Anything given should be shown on the loved one and accounted for in a checklist manner other wise your victimizing your clients while they are in an emotional state.
That's the last experience shared with our loved one has been literally stolen. Lets not get into the fee of two viewings which one happened outside damn near in the parking lot for 3 minutes.

This past weekend we had our father's funeral service hosted by the wonderful staff of Lotus Funeral Home, special thanks to Jhita, funeral facilitator for all the funeral services preparations. I would definitely recommend this place for your future needs!

The staff at Lotus did an outstanding job, went above and beyond in customer service and their halls are absolutely beautiful spaces. We just hosted our grandfather's funeral service there this weekend and I couldn't ask for more from a funeral home. I can't recommend them enough.
